Entrepreneurship Development Center was established under a Project on "Establish, Develop and Manage Entrepreneurship Development Center (EDC) and Incubation Centre (IC) in the Educational Institute of North Eastern Region" which is sponsored by North Eastern Council, Shilong, Government of India and it's Nodal Agency is Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship, Guwahati. Dr. Tapan Dutta, Principal of the college is the Chairman of the Advisory Board for Entrepreneurship Development Center. Dr. Bapukan Saikia, Assistant Professor from the Department of Political Science is the Center Head and Mrs. Deepanjali Das, Associate Professor from the Department of Economics is the Assistant Center Head of this Entrepreneurship Development Center. The main objective of this center is to develop entrepreneurial mindset among the students. As an initiative of the project a five days long Faculty Development Programme on 'Entrepreneurship Development' was organised by Entrepreneurship Development Center, Jawaharlal Nehru College, Boko from 22nd April, 2024 to 26th April, 2024. The main objective of the programme was to provide faculty members with a comprehensive understanding of entrepreneurship development and equip them with innovative teaching methodologies to instil entrepreneurial thinking among the students. The programme was attended by 20 participants representing seven nearby colleges. Nine Resource Persons from various disciplines delivered insightful lectures which highly motivated our participants. After that an Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme was organised from 28th to 30th August, 2024 which was attended by 164 students and alumni from different institutes of Kamrup district. Very prominent resource persons interacted with the participants during that three days entrepreneurship awareness programme. The center has achieved highest registered participants among the Entrepreneurship Development Centers across North East India. From this center, 30 participants will go for Incubation Center and may have a chance to avail five lakhs seed money for start up investment.
