Aryabhatta Science Centre is the forum which provides facilities for practicing activity-based learning process and to build a spirit of enquiry, creative, talent, generate scientific temper and of a self-reliant culture in the community as a whole. It is characterized by its two main way of communication – exhibit and activities. The activities of Aryabhatta Science Centre would be taken up in the interior parts of the Boko block to help improve school science education in learning by doing method and create scientific temper among rural masses and apply benefits of S&T in their day to day life. Students would be encouraged to take up activity-based programmes and to help them to participate in national level S&T programmes/ Competitions. Aryabhatta Science Centre, Boko Block was formed in the year of 2009 under Department of Physics, J.N.College, Boko. The Centre is catalyzed, Concept and supported by Assam Science Technology and Environment Council (ASTEC) under the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of Assam. All over Assam there are 219 Aryabhatta Science Centers among which Boko Block is the one of the most active and sincere Centre for which founder coordinator Dr. Ranjit Baishya were selected as the District Coordinator of the Aryabhatta Science Centers, Kamrup District. Now under Department of Physics, Aryabhatta Science Centre Boko Block as well as Kamrup District are running smoothly. Main Objectives of the Centre: • To build scientific attitude among the school students in the locality. • To make the science education exciting through experimentations and hands on activities. • To promote basic science as a career.
