Greetings
Jawaharlal Nehru College is a premier college situated at the Southern part of Kamrup district. With a glorious history opening across a life span of more than 50 years, the college has been wholly committed in the pursuit of knowledge dissemination, preservation and generation too.
Since its inception in 1964, J.N. College has fervidly and persistently followed its motto of creation of a sound mind inn a sound body.
In the illuminating words of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, one can seek inspiration from the following quote – ‘We are all born with a divine fire in us. Our effort should be to give wings to this fire and fill the world with the glow of its goodness.’ [Wings of Fire]
And it is this divine fire which has been burning bright in the brigade of the faculty of J N College to strive continuously in the path of knowledge acquisition, preservation and propagation amongst students and the community as well as bolster each with wings to fire and spread the goodness of remarkable knowledge with an equal thrust towards the holistic development as well.
Indeed it is this divine fire which has been relentlessly inspiring the J.N. College family to widen the horizon of capacity and knowledge dissemination by introducing the post graduate studies in the department of Assamese and Mathematics.
Our deep communication here at J.N. College is ‘To succeed in life and achieve result, you must to understand and master three mighty forces – desire, belief and expectation’. [Wings of Fire]
Therefore with deep faith and belief ourselves, we are un-daunting in the path of progress of our college with invaluable co-operation, association of various communities in Boko in our effort to achieve higher and nobler goals.
It also needs mention that after being Re-Accredited with Grade-B by NAAC, receiving the Star Status Grants from the Department of Bio-technology, Govt. of India, under Star College Scheme. The journey of progress has accelerated further with newer and better prospects and opportunities for students and teachers as well.
With this note I would like to offer a worm welcome to all the aspiring new comers on behalf of J.N. College family. We take this opportunity to dedicate ourselves to all of you in the process of knowledge propagation, preservation and its creative utilization for setting new bench mark of excellence.
