Jawaharlal Nehru College Central Library :
The College Central Library using SOUL 2.0 (Software for University Libraries) since 2014. The latest version of the software i.e. SOUL 3.0 installed in 2024. SOUL is a state-of-the-art Integrated Library Management Software designed and developed by the INFLIBNET (Information and Library Network) Centre.
Digital Facilities by Modules in the ILMS are mentioned as follows:
I. In-Out (Visitor) Management: Users can register themselves before entering the library, and they can check out before leaving the library through this module.
II. Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC): is a digital catalogue that enables the users to search for books, journals, or any other material in the library database by entering keywords such as the subject, name of the book, author's name, etc. SOUL 3.0 database backup utility is available and this utility used for taking backup from SQL Server and to restore it in the external hard disc.
III. Cataloguing and Accessioning: The metadata of resources such as books and non-books is created. At present in our Central Library has 27608 numbers of books as per accession number. Out of them we entered 18309 numbers of bibliographical records of library resources in SOUL 3.0 database and generate barcode for all the textbooks The software keeps track of the resources available in the library and catalogues the content by title, subject, author, etc.
IV. Circulation: The library management system is integrated with barcodes to track the movement of books and stock verification.
V. Membership Management: Members' information is maintained in a database, and a member ID is assigned to the library members.

Apart from this SOUL 3.0 library is using DSpace Content Management Digital Library software for digitization of documents. Using this software library has created an Institutional Repositories (IR) and access is made available online to the entire.
scholarly community in open access (http://jnc.digitallibrary.co.in/). In this IR faculty publications, college magazines, question papers, syllabus, free e-books and many more information is made available. Reprography service is also available in the library.
The Central Library holds institutional membership with NLIST (National Library and Information Service) a programme of INFLIBNET Centre and NDLI (National Digital Library of India) to provide remote access to e-resources for various level of users.
Library is Wi-Fi enabled for internet connectivity and has 100 Mbps internet bandwidth.
Facilities and Services:
 Spacious Reading Room: A dedicated space with a seating capacity of 150 for students and faculty (separate section)
 Reference Area: A designated area for in depth study and research
 Computer and Internet Access: Separate section for Internet access
 Reprographic service: The library offers photocopying and printing facilities at subsidized rates.
 Library Orientation Programme: Librarian conduct orientation sessions for new students each semester, familiarizing them with library resources and services.
 Dewey Decimal Classification System (23rd edition): Books are organised using this widely recognised system for each browsing.
 Safety Measure: Fire safety equipment and CCTV camera are installed for a secure environment.
 QR Code: QR code facility is available to search Central Library website, library Facebook page, WhatsApp group, feedback form, open-source E-journal, NLIST and NDLI.
 The Central library awards the best reader in each academic year.

Overall Jawaharlal Nehru College, Central Library provides a comprehensive and user-friendly learning environment, supporting the academic pursuits of students and faculty.
